LIM-15 PCNA GEN EXPRESSION TEST

LIM-15 PCNA GEN EXPRESSION TEST

- Sperm cells are cells that proliferate by meiosis and indication of active meiosis in testicular tissue is an important identifier of whether sperm formation is present in azoospermic men. In this sense, determination of proteins involved in meiosis gives important findings about sperm production. Lim15 / Dmc1 protein is a protein involved in DNA synthesis based on recombination in the meiosis stage. Studies have shown that Lim15 / Dmc1 protein is expressed only in meiosis-specific cells and have shown that Lim15 / Dmc1 protein cooperates with PCNA protein in the meiosis phase (1). PCNA is expressed in both somatic cells and meiotic cells. Expression of these two proteins is critical for meiosis. PCNA expression has also been used to determine whether patients respond to gonadotropin therapy in a new study (2) Lim15 / Dmc1 and PCNA expression can be examined to determine whether patients respond to gonadotropin therapy.

·         To summarize, Lim 15 gene expression analysis is an important marker that indicates the presence or potential (may) of meiosis that enables sperm production in testicular tissue.

·         Therefore, by looking at Lim 15 gene expression in azoospermic patients we get the answer to these questions:

·         1. Does the patient have sperm production?

·         2. Does the patient have the potential to produce sperm?

·         3. Does the treatment given to the patient increase this potential?

·         4. It will be known that if the treatment to be given to the patient will be effective or not
